WATER HARVESTING

112 tube wells and 408 pump sets/ borings were constructed for very small farmers. 22 treadle pump sets were installed on an experimental basis.

• Received a grant from District Financial Development Agency to construct an irrigation tube well at Chattikara village.
  
  
• The tube well was handed over to members of the Community Water User's Committee for operation and maintenance.
  
  
• In eleven chronic water shortage villages:
  • Villages such as Kolana & 10 others were able to make use of funds from CAPART & DANIDA for tube well construction.
  • Rain water was harvested by constructing check dams, reforestation to recharge aquifers was undertaken.
